Spam Detection
Upon receipt of email, a number of tests are performed to determine whether the message is legitimate or spam, these tests include checking for forgery, spam hash signatures and RFC compliance. Our highly advanced content recognition engine analyses each message for spam and adult content. The technology uses highly adaptive pattern files that are constantly updated. The system uses flexible scoring methods to allow adult and spam messages to be identified and treated differently. The message content is then measured and analysed to help prevent false positives.
The system also includes extensive whitelist and blacklist options, which can control messages, by domain, workgroup or individual user. These whitelists and blacklists contain sophisticated logic patterns that can be weighted to ensure the right messages get through and the wrong ones are identified and destroyed. When a message is detected by the system it is placed in quarantine and email sent to the intended recipient. The user can then chose to either accept the email or confirm that it is spam.
